Privacy and Confidentiality

According to research, Privacy means the right of individuals to hold information about themselves in secret, free from the knowledge of others; such as how much you have in your bank accounts. And Confidentiality means the assurance that information about identifiable persons, the release of which would constitute an invasion of privacy for any individual, will not be disclosed without consent except as allowed by law; such as commercial secrets. In new media, such as Facebook, you have to enter a correct user name and password to open your page, if you have forgotten your username and password, you will be asked to provide proof to prove you are user. I think this is confidential information, because anyone can’t open your account since they don’t have correct password. However, you can choose friends to see or comment on your facebook wall, but only your friends can see your information. I think this could be privacy information.
